Keys
A long time ago, and well before I created Crustose.Net, I started the Lichen Key Archive. I still think it was a neat idea, and there was a bit of interest. But there were a couple technical difficulties of the time that made it difficult to maintain. While the base pages still exist at the link above, nothing has been added for years and the links to the keys themselves appear broken.
This section of Crustose.Net is available for reviving the idea. Post keys if you like. Comments on posted keys are welcome.
Where did the CALS Conservation Committee postings go?
The CALS site now has blog posting capabilities, so CALS Conservation Committee postings about sponsored species and other items will be maintained there: http://CaliforniaLichens.org.
Other sites
Post links to other lichenology sites here.
General discussion
This is an area for general discussion. Post what you like as long as it is relevant to lichenology and is in good spirit.
Before you can post, you will need to register. Your first post will be moderated.
If these discussions grow significantly, they will get organized appropriately.
Happy lichenizing!
Notebooks of Harry Thiers
These were scanned by Bill Hill with permission from the Thiers Herbarium at San Francisco State University. Images can be downloaded HERE.
Currently they are a set of jpg images, but I’ll convert them to PDF when time allows.
Usnea screen saver (posted on behalf of Darrell Wright)
The attached file will install a screen saver that displays images of Usnea. This was created by Darrell Wright, who asked me to post it. I have successfully tested it on my Windows XP (home edition) desktop.
